Mr Delali Oklu, Volta Regional ECG Manager said the Company requested for the support of the
Police to help meet revenue collection target for the year.
He said as part of the programme, ECG staff would visit all houses to assess the integrity of electricity connections.
Mr Oklu at a meeting with the Deputy Regional Police Commander on the collaboration said, staff of the Company would be available in communities to receive payments from defaulting customers, and cut service to clients unwilling to settle their bills.
He requested the services of the Police for special night monitoring teams in communities.
Mr Francis Ebenezer Doku, the Deputy Volta Regional Police Commander recounted the excellent working relationship that existed between the Police and ECG and pledged the support of the Police.
“Electricity is a very important resource in the security provision and crime prevention so we are duty bound as a security agency to fully support any institution, especially when their services have direct impact on security, " he stated.
The Deputy Regional Commander said all Districts Commands would support the exercise for ECG to recover its debts.
The nationwide intensive revenue mobilization programme began on July 2.
